If you’ve lost all of your natural teeth, whether from age, tooth decay or injury, we can replace your missing teeth and smile with full dentures.
A full denture is a removable appliance that replaces all of your natural teeth. Full dentures have a flesh-colored acrylic base that fits over your gums. The base of the upper denture covers the roof of your mouth, while the lower denture is shaped like a horseshoe to accommodate your tongue. The full denture is placed in the mouth after the remaining teeth are removed and tissues have healed – a process that can take six to eight weeks.
Replacing missing teeth will benefit your appearance and your health. Without support from the denture, facial muscles sag and make you look older. With a full denture, you’ll also be able to easily eat and speak.
While there will be an adjustment period, your dentures will closely resemble your natural teeth and provide a comfortable fit and feel. Dentures may even improve the look of your smile and help fill out the appearance of your face and profile.
